I am

Cut from the root

Trying to make sense

Recreating myself here

Going back to see what is there

A colonised body, journeying

2. HOME

For those who leave,

there is a longing to return.

3. TONGUE

I longed for a voice

that celebrated my blackness.

When I began to speak

I heard the beauty in my own existence.

4. HEIRLOOM

I leave no objects

Only ancestral memories.
